Barnard 143 (LRGB)

Barnard 143 is a dark nebula in Aquila. Combined with Barnard 142 it makes up “Barnard’s E” but we have Barnard’s U here.

It’s about 2,000 light years away but I can’t say much more about it. I wish I could because I think this is my new favorite image!

This is 24h 55m of LRGB data. For all the technical details, see astrobin.

This image was selected as the AAPOD2 image of the day for 18 July 2023. You can find it here. Thanks to the AAPOD2 folks for the selection!
