On Sunday, November 5th, the aurora reached down to Virginia and probably further south given how high it was in the sky here. This is the second aurora I’ve caught on the all sky camera and by far the one that took up more of the sky.
At dark it was fairly bright in the camera taking up much of the northwest sky but it faded through the night. It might even have been rotating out of view as the planet rotated. I’m not sure from the timeless but it was either fading or rotating to the west. Either way by late night was gone from view, especially with moonrise.
In the video north is about centered on the large tree at the bottom and east is just about aligned with the chimney on the right.. The brief bright flashes are from car headlights driving by.
The keogram below shows the “night at a glance” view. A slice from to to bottom from the center of each image is put together and it shows how the sky changed through the night, at least in the center of the image.

You can see that by around midnight the aroura was much dimmer, if not gone in the center.
The final image is the star trails image. It’s made by adding together all the images from the night:

This shows that that the aurora was confined to the northwest and gives. a clearer indication of the compass directions.
