
Roslund 5 is a an open cluster in Cygnus. Now you know everything about it that I do. That’s the danger when imaging things in relatively obscure catalogs. It’s often impossible to find much information about them. It might be about 1,500 light years away but I’m uncertain of the source where I got that so don’t count on it if you are planning a trip. 🙂
You can see a hint of glowing hydrogen in the background. Unfortunately, a mistake when acquiring the data prevented enhancing that glow without showing the mistake but it might be worth revisiting with a hydrogen alpha filter in the future.
