Messier 62

Messier 62 is a globular cluster in Ophiuchus (perhaps the constellation name that is the most fun to say!). It’s about 21,500 light years away and is one of many globular clusters orbiting in the halo of our Milky Way.

It’s about ¼ the apparent size of the full moon. It’s stars are quite old, averaging around 11.7 billion years old so more than twice the age of our sun.

This was a short 4h integration. Technical details at astrobin.
