Little Sombrero Galaxy

The Little Sombrero Galaxy is named after the Sombrero Galaxy (Messier 104) as it presents a similar shape. This is a spiral galaxy seen edge-on. Except for the dust lane, there isn’t much detail to be seen but that dust lane stands out in stark contrast to the bulge of the galaxy.

The galaxy is about 40 million light years away in the constellation Pegasus.
