Barnard 142 is a dark nebula in Aquila. Together with Barnard 143 it makes up Barnard’s E” as the combination looks a bit like an “E” though to me it looks like it should be Barnards “UI” or “ln” depending on which way you look at it. However in the scopes I imaged these in the combination was too large for the field of view so they ended up as separate images.

It’s about 2,000 light years away.
